About this role
Amtech makes enterprise software for the packaging, printing and manufacturing industries, backed by Vista Equity Partners. This QA Engineer II owns quality for assigned stories and small features, from requirement review through release, with Playwright automation and AI-assisted testing tools.
What you will do
- Own testing for assigned stories and small features end to end
- Review requirements for testability and quality risk
- Design and run functional, regression, integration and exploratory tests
- Develop and maintain Playwright automated tests in JS/TS
- Perform UI, API, database and end-to-end testing
- Maintain regression suites and requirement-to-test traceability
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD and investigate failures
- Report defects and validate fixes
- Use AI-assisted tools for test design and defect analysis, verifying their output
- Mentor Associate QA Engineers
What the employer expects
- Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Engineering or related, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of QA or quality engineering experience
- Hands-on Playwright or comparable web automation framework
- Working proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience testing web apps, APIs, databases and integrated systems
- Familiarity with Postman, Swagger or REST clients
- SQL and database validation knowledge
- Git, PR workflows and CI/CD familiarity
- Agile/Scrum delivery experience
- Experience with JIRA or similar tools
- Exposure to AI-assisted test/data generation
