About this role
Cohere Health builds clinical intelligence platforms for health plans using AI. This Software Engineer II, BI role builds full-stack features for the business intelligence platform including scalable data services, APIs, ETL pipelines and interactive dashboards.
What you will do
- Lead technical design and architecture for complex BI platform features
- Take ownership of end-to-end feature releases and system optimization
- Drive technical decision-making and architectural choices
- Architect scalable cloud-based data services, APIs, ETL pipelines and UIs
- Build backend systems supporting analytics and complex data queries
- Design and develop UI platforms and interactive dashboards
- Champion engineering excellence and coding standards
- Optimize system performance and reliability
- Define comprehensive test strategies
- Ensure healthcare security, compliance and data governance
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
- Collaborate with product, data science, analytics and business stakeholders
What the employer expects
- Minimum 4 years of software development experience
- Strong backend expertise in Python with FastAPI, Flask or Django
- Deep understanding of OOP, design patterns and architecture
- Proven experience building UI platforms with React and TypeScript/JavaScript
- Extensive hands-on AWS experience (Athena, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda etc.)
- Demonstrated experience building data pipelines or analytics platforms
- Strong proficiency with test frameworks (pytest, Jest, Cypress etc.)
- Experience with NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB)
- Advanced SQL and query optimization
- Prior experience with Tableau APIs and BI integrations
- Experience with CI/CD, IaC and DevOps practices
