Cohere Health delivers clinical intelligence and agentic AI for health plans covering prior authorization, payment integrity and more. This Sr Business Intelligence Engineer role drives analytical infrastructure, data models and Tableau ecosystem for operational, clinical and strategic analytics.
What you will do
- Lead execution and refinement of BI and analytics architecture
- Design and implement semantic and dimensional data models
- Collaborate with data platform, analytics and product teams on shared definitions
- Improve data pipeline efficiency with dbt best practices
- Support release management, testing and promotion of analytics assets
- Enable high-impact dashboards and KPIs using Tableau
- Serve as primary Tableau Cloud SME including administration and embedding
- Identify and remediate performance bottlenecks
- Drive adoption of governed data marts
- Mentor junior engineers and analysts
- Contribute to documentation and standards
What the employer expects
- 3+ years in BI, analytics engineering or data engineering, preferably healthcare
- Expert-level SQL and hands-on dbt or similar
- Extensive experience with healthcare data domains
- Deep expertise in Tableau (Cloud, Desktop, Prep, APIs, RLS, performance)
- Proven experience designing scalable data models
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling
- Experience with Airflow
- Hands-on AWS data platforms
- Ability to mentor or functionally lead a small team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
