About this role
Termgrid builds the operating system deal professionals use to manage private equity and private credit financing workflows, trusted by 4 of the top 5 global PE firms. This backend engineer builds microservices for deal lifecycle, document generation and analytics.
What you will do
- Design and own microservice-based backend applications in Java and Spring Boot
- Build APIs serving multiple financial workflows and transaction types
- Implement event-driven architectures for deal lifecycle and notifications
- Integrate features like term sheet parsing and deal analytics
- Work with product, frontend, DevOps and data teams
- Design MySQL schemas and optimize data flows
- Monitor, optimize and scale backend services
- Take part in code reviews and architecture discussions
What the employer expects
- 2-5 years of backend development with Java and Spring Boot
- Strong microservices and REST API design knowledge
- Proficiency in MySQL (schema design, queries, indexing, performance)
- Experience with event-driven systems and message brokers (Kafka or similar)
- Familiarity with caching (Redis, Memcached)
- Solid OOP and design pattern foundation
- Git, CI/CD and cloud deployment experience (AWS or GCP)
