SmartBear develops software quality tools for testing, API lifecycle management, and observability, serving organizations worldwide through products such as Swagger. This role contributes to backend features for Swagger Portal, Catalog, and Studio while collaborating with engineers, testers, product managers, and UX designers.
What you will do
- Implement new functionality in collaboration with stakeholders
- Build clean applications with strong technical foundations
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Develop, debug, and modify source code and unit tests
- Create and maintain technical and support documentation
- Maintain test coverage
- Collaborate with international engineering, testing, product, and UX teams
What the employer expects
- Have 1-2+ years of Java development experience
- Have experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot 3+
- Understand object-oriented programming and maintainable code
- Know how to design and consume REST web services
- Have experience or knowledge of RDBMS such as Postgres
- Understand design patterns and performance best practices
- Have experience using AI to accelerate development activities
- Hold a relevant BS degree and have English proficiency at B2 level or higher
