About this role
Axon builds technology that protects life through devices and cloud software for public safety. This graduate SRE role focuses on reliable, scalable cloud-native platforms, troubleshooting distributed systems, and participating in on-call while learning under senior guidance.
What you will do
- Contribute to building and maintaining reliable, scalable and secure cloud platforms and tools
- Apply site reliability engineering principles to improve system stability and performance
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code
- Troubleshoot and debug issues in distributed cloud-native systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support service reliability
- Create and maintain documentation
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
What the employer expects
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
- About 1 year of experience in software engineering, SRE or infrastructure
- Australian government security clearance or ability to obtain (Australian citizenship required)
- Solid understanding of operating systems, preferably Linux
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Experience with Kubernetes platforms
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C# or Java
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools
