About this role
Sigmoid's Product Engineering team builds scalable, user-facing web applications. This SDE II owns features from design to deployment across a React/TypeScript frontend and Node.js or FastAPI backend, and mentors junior engineers through code reviews.
What you will do
- Build responsive web interfaces with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and Shadcn UI
- Build backend services with Node.js or Python (FastAPI)
- Model, query and optimize relational data in PostgreSQL
- Design and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
- Apply SOLID principles and design patterns for maintainable code
- Write tests with Jest, React Testing Library or PyTest
- Take part in Agile ceremonies
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews
What the employer expects
- 3-5 years of hands-on React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS experience
- Experience with state and data-fetching libraries (TanStack Query, Zustand or Redux Toolkit)
- Strong server-side skills in Node.js or Python (FastAPI)
- Experience with ORMs such as Prisma, Drizzle, TypeORM or SQLAlchemy
- Strong PostgreSQL modeling, indexing and query optimization
- Practical use of design patterns and clean architecture
- Solid API design plus OIDC and OAuth 2.0 authentication
- Proficiency in unit, integration and component testing
