About this role
Brainstorm Force builds WordPress products and hosts production sites for customers. The DevOps engineer keeps WordPress/PHP servers, Laravel/Next.js SaaS apps and cPanel hosting environments performant, secure and available.
What you will do
- Run and tune Nginx + PHP-FPM and LiteSpeed stacks with MySQL/MariaDB and Redis
- Fix slow sites, 5xx errors, memory exhaustion and database bottlenecks
- Deploy and maintain Laravel and Next.js apps on bare-metal and VPS
- Run zero-downtime deployments with rollback plans
- Maintain cPanel/WHM customer hosting (account setup, migrations, PHP versions, malware cleanup)
- Own DNS, Cloudflare, CDN and load balancing
- Manage AWS S3, SES and IAM
- Run monitoring, alerting, backups, patching and incident response
- Automate with shell scripting, Ansible and AI tools
What the employer expects
- 2–3 years working on Linux production servers over SSH
- Hosted and maintained WordPress/PHP sites at server level
- Working knowledge of DNS, Cloudflare/CDN, SSL and load balancing
- MySQL/MariaDB basics (backups, restores, slow queries)
- Redis working knowledge
- Working knowledge of core AWS services (S3, SES, IAM)
- Uses Claude or similar AI tools in daily technical work
