Appen is a leader in AI training data providing human-generated data for generative AI, LLMs, computer vision and speech recognition. This IT Security Analyst role operates security controls, leads incident response, maintains ISO 27001 documentation and drives identity, access and patch management.
What you will do
- Monitor, triage and resolve alerts in Microsoft Defender XDR and Sentinel
- Lead incidents end-to-end including containment, eradication and recovery
- Maintain ISMS policies, risk register and audit evidence
- Administer Entra ID including Conditional Access and MFA
- Run quarterly access reviews and enforce least privilege
- Operate Privileged Access Management including PIM
- Own vulnerability remediation and monthly patch cycles
- Manage security licences and Sentinel log ingestion for cost optimisation
What the employer expects
- 1–3 years' experience in a security operations or security analyst role
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, Sentinel and Entra ID
- Experience leading security incidents and producing reports
- Working knowledge of ISO 27001 controls and audit processes
- Experience with IAM, access reviews, PAM and patch management
- Proficiency with KQL and PowerShell or Python
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
