About this role
HighLevel is an AI-powered business operating system used by agencies and SMBs worldwide. This SDE II role on the CRM & Automation team involves building production services that handle massive scale messaging, automation and workflow execution.
What you will do
- Build and ship features in Node.js / Go services on real production paths
- Own well-scoped services end to end including code, tests, rollout and monitoring
- Work with SQL and NoSQL data stores including queries and indexes
- Get hands-on with queues, caches and rate limiters
- Ship Vue 3 UIs that consume your own APIs
- Write design docs for features and defend them in review
- Join the on-call rotation
What the employer expects
- 2+ years of backend engineering experience with strong fundamentals in Node.js, Go or comparable language
- Working knowledge of queues or async processing (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar)
- Genuine interest in distributed systems (idempotency, retries, consistency trade-offs)
- Hands-on with Redis or another cache/in-memory store
- Comfortable with SQL or NoSQL databases
- Proficient in Vue 3 or similar modern frontend framework with state management
- Write tests as a habit and can put design thinking into a clear doc
- AI-native builder who codes with agents daily
