About this role
Episode Six provides cloud-native payment processing and wallet infrastructure for banks, airlines and fintechs. This trainee joins the security team's 24/7 operations centre, watching alerts and running day-to-day security tasks.
What you will do
- Monitor, triage and respond to security alerts and incidents
- Administer EDR, SIEM and vulnerability scanning tools
- Review security logs across production, DR, dev and cloud environments
- Analyse events for suspicious activity and indicators of compromise
- Support vulnerability assessment and remediation tracking
- Review compliance of access, patching, firewall and hardening controls
- Support incident investigations and evidence collection
- Join the on-call, shift and weekend rota
What the employer expects
- 0-2 years of experience focused on information security
- Formal security certification or working towards one
- Good understanding of security controls
- Knowledge of security capabilities in Linux, Windows and AWS
- Understanding of network security tools such as firewalls and NIDS
- Hybrid cloud security or PCI DSS experience is desirable
