About this role
Latent AI provides edge AI solutions enabling rapid deployment of AI on any device for government and commercial customers. The AI/ML Engineer builds perception and autonomy systems, standing up ML infrastructure from scratch and shipping to production.
What you will do
- Turn real-world data into model-ready data and select appropriate model approaches balancing cost and latency
- Improve the physical AI inference pipeline balancing performance, latency and accuracy
- Partner with the team to engage customers and build field-deployable solutions
- Mentor teammates and raise ML capability across the company
What the employer expects
- 3–5+ years ML engineering on small teams with track record shipping CV/ML to production
- Hands-on experience building perception and autonomous systems
- Experience establishing training pipelines, serving, evaluation and monitoring from scratch
- Startup or small/mid-size company experience owning scope and making build/buy tradeoffs
- Fluency in feature engineering, leak-aware splits, imbalanced metrics, CV and hyperparameter tuning
- Strong Python and experience with PyTorch/scikit-learn
- Solid MLOps including CI/CD for ML, versioning, experiment tracking, drift detection and monitoring
- Experience designing inference systems with explicit latency/throughput targets on edge hardware
- U.S. citizenship required
- AWS experience a plus
