About this role
SonicWall is a long-established cybersecurity vendor selling firewall and network security products through partners. This engineer develops and maintains features for its firewall product line, supports customer issue diagnosis and writes design specifications.
What you will do
- Design and develop new features for SonicWall firewall products
- Deliver features on time with high quality
- Diagnose and resolve customer-reported issues
- Enhance existing features and fix bugs
- Write functional and design specifications
- Work with the technical publications team on documentation
- Join code reviews and test case reviews
- Contribute to process improvements
What the employer expects
- 3+ years of C programming experience
- Bachelor's in CS/Engineering with 3-4 years of experience, or a Master's degree
- Knowledge of networking protocols and the TCP/IP stack
- Good experience with Linux and multi-threading
- Firewall, SD-WAN, routing, VPN and HA experience is a strong plus
- Embedded systems experience is a plus
- GDB experience is a big plus
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work with a distributed team
