About this role
NextStep builds course platforms and AI tools for schools. This founding role owns the data layer and multi-tenant architecture.
What you will do
- Own the data layer including Postgres schema design and migrations
- Build and harden multi-tenant architecture ensuring isolated databases
- Run platform on Cloudflare Workers and edge storage
- Build systems behind course-connected tutors and grading
What the employer expects
- Strong backend fundamentals and real production experience with Postgres
- Comfort designing multi-tenant systems
- Experience running services on Cloudflare or ability to learn fast
- High agency and ability to ship autonomously
