About this role
Deepgram offers real-time speech-to-text, text-to-speech and voice agent APIs used by thousands of organizations. This backend role works on the core inference services, covering networking, speech processing, audio transcoding and performance tuning.
What you will do
- Improve core inference services (networking, audio transcoding, latency, memory)
- Build processes to measure and optimize service performance
- Debug complex networking, scheduling and high-performance computing issues
- Customize backend services for customer needs
- Design and ship new services and features with Product
What the employer expects
- 3+ years in an industry role
- Programming experience in Rust (or C/C++) with competence in Python
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Solid version control experience, preferably git
- Comprehensive experience with UNIX-style systems
- Machine learning and audio processing experience are a plus
