About this role
DoorDash runs a three-sided marketplace connecting consumers, merchants and delivery drivers. Backend engineers here work on product and platform teams, building and running the services behind the logistics engine while the company moves from a monolith toward microservices.
What you will do
- Develop, release and run large-scale web applications
- Define backend architecture and tech stack for a product area
- Improve performance, reliability, scalability and security of backend systems
- Help move the monolith to a microservice architecture
- Weigh trade-offs with cross-functional partners
What the employer expects
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2+ years of industry backend experience
- Experience with service-oriented architecture, REST APIs and unit testing
- Understanding of modern web stacks (HTTP, REST)
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ
- Proficiency with AI coding tools across the development lifecycle
