About this role
Astra provides APIs and automation for moving money programmatically, including transfers, bank debits and card disbursements. This backend role covers features across payments, fraud detection, compliance and user management in a distributed microservices system.
What you will do
- Design, build, test and deploy backend features end to end
- Build integrations with banks, card networks and third-party services
- Write and review technical designs
- Fix bottlenecks and failure modes across microservices
- Improve tests and observability
- Work with product and compliance to turn requirements into software
What the employer expects
- 3+ years building production backend systems
- Delivers features independently from ambiguous requirements
- Solid algorithms, data structures and CS fundamentals
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven or microservices
- Python 3 with web frameworks (Flask)
- SQL and NoSQL experience
- GCP or similar cloud experience
- Willing to travel up to about 15% annually
